working with wire

i came across a bead sale a few months ago in a local craft shop. not much of interest except for these small coils of wire. not even sure why i bought them but i thought they could be the start of an interesting project. my first attempt at using them was to produce a small ring – a few coils with some garnet chips linked through the coils. turned out ok, but only useful if your finger was exactly the same size as the wire!

then it came to me one day while walking into work, i could cut the wire into small loops, and then use them in necklaces to create wire structures or chains.

so far i have made three of these necklaces, one using goldstone, and creating a triangular structure out of the wire, one with a stone pendent and onyx chips, and using the wire as a chain, and the final one – my favourite – using a combination of tiger eye beads, and mother of pearl pendents hanging off a triangular structure.
