egyptian glamour…

this necklace is inspired by the vibrant, peacock-like colours seen in egyptian art and jewellery. i love the striking combination of these colours, and the richness of the overuse of gold. i have to say that i’m not too sure what i would wear this with, but it would be fun…

apparently, peacocks were roasted and served to the pharaohs in their own plumage. the peacock’s that is. i won’t go that far, but it was nice to explore the rich, beautiful colours of the peacock in designing this seed bead necklace, consisting of beaded sequences of gold, blue, green and a rich dark red.
